Lecture Overview
Our hair, skin and nails are often among the first areas of the body to reflect nutritional imbalances, stress, digestive issues and changes in overall health. Understanding the nutritional factors that influence their condition can provide valuable insights for practitioners supporting clients' wellbeing.
In this informative presentation, Daisy Skinner will explore the science behind healthy hair, skin and nail function and examine how targeted nutritional support can help maintain their strength, resilience and appearance. The session will highlight the importance of key nutrients such as protein, iron, zinc, vitamin C, biotin and omega-3 fatty acids, and discuss how deficiencies or suboptimal intake may contribute to common concerns including hair thinning, brittle nails and premature skin ageing.
Daisy will also explore the crucial role of collagen in maintaining skin structure, elasticity and tissue integrity, together with practical dietary and lifestyle strategies that can naturally support collagen production throughout life.
In addition, the presentation will examine the growing body of research surrounding the gut–skin axis, revealing how digestive health, the microbiome and inflammation can influence skin health and appearance. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of the interconnected nature of nutrition and wellbeing, along with evidence-based recommendations that can be shared with clients seeking to support their health from the inside out.
Whether you are interested in nutrition, holistic healthcare, or simply wish to deepen your understanding of the factors that contribute to healthy hair, skin and nails, this engaging presentation will provide valuable insights and practical take-home advice.
